Message Apparently we had a tech make a mistake on the assembly of the engine that he may lose his job over when we find out what happened. I can't personally look over all Z1 employees all the time and they do make mistakes, although mistakes of this magnitude are rare. However no one knows yet what the source of the problem is because the lover timing cover hasn't been removed. There is still a possibility that it is a defective OEM component.

As soon as we were notified of the problem we made it clear that we want to take care of the problem as soon as possible at minimal inconvenience. We've offered up several perfectly reasonable solutions which you have rejected. We've spent the past several weeks on the phone and e-mail with you on almost a daily basis trying to work around your demands. In probably less than half the time you've spent arguing we could have easily led you through the process of finding the issue and likely resolving it. We have also made it perfectly clear that we would have paid you more than fairly to do so. In our opinion this solution would have been by far the best route and the issue would have almost certainly already been resolved. We've also offered up paying to have the motor sent back here to Z1, repaired, and paying to send it back to you. There have been a number of variations of other solutions we've offered that have all been reasonable and above our written policies and far above and beyond industry standard policies. Instead you have expressed the desire to take the car to a Nissan dealer at our expense and we've told you that we can only pay a set amount if you do so. We have doubts about a dealership's ability to even fix the issue and experience tells us they will likely take us all to the cleaners on trying.

Even though you've been unwilling to accept any of our solutions we've been continuing to work with you to find a fix you are satisfied with. All this has no doubt delayed the process but we are openly communicating with you on a daily basis and taking steps towards resolution every day. No one is hiding or dragging their feet we are simply trying to resolve this issue the best way, while working around your wishes. The present solution that we have agreed upon and is now in motion is for a trusted shop in VA, not too terribly far from you, to come get the car and take care of the issue all at our expense. I can assure you that this agreement is far more than you will find most parts suppliers willing to do.

We've already agreed on this and you have accepted. It's not clear to me the intent of your post considering we have reached an agreement. It seems that you are upset about the time frame, but we have offered solutions that would have already had the issue resolved at no expense to you. Even though we are indeed frustrated with the fact the you have turned down what we consider the best solutions for everyone involved, we are still committed to fixing the problem for you at minimal inconvenience. I do not think you can deny our commitment to work with you to get this resolved.

Although we spend massive amounts of time to prevent them, problems do sometimes occur. When they do, they are no doubt an inevitable inconvenience for everyone involved. However we do our best to offer solutions to minimize the inconvenience, which we feel are above and beyond the norm in this industry. Obviously this is something that should not even be an issue in the first place and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that it has caused. We take problems like this very seriously and will not only make take care of this but make appropriate changes to policies and staff as a result in an attempt to eliminate the likelihood of similar circumstances happening again.
